Inside the Opening of Lotus Bakery’s Second Factory

Lotus Bakery Group – Capturing Growth and Community at the Wolseley Factory Opening

Lotus Bakery Group brought me on to tell the story of their second factory opening in Wolseley, a milestone for the company in South Africa. My approach was to capture the essence of the company’s vision and the heart of the local community by focusing on the real people behind the brand.

Event Highlight Video
The primary video, showcased on a large screen at the opening reception, introduced guests to the people working on the factory floor, with narration and perspective from Donald Matheson, the local manager. This authentic portrayal allowed the audience to feel a connection to both the factory’s mission and the local impact. The result was well-received, including commendation from Jan Boone, CEO of Lotus Bakery Group.

Social Media Series
Following the event, I created several shorter videos tailored for Lotus’s social media channels. These segments were crafted to engage and connect with online audiences, offering a closer look at the factory’s operations and the community’s pride in the new facility. The event organizer also requested a clip for their own social media presence, adding value by helping extend the reach of the day’s highlights.

Presidential Visit
Several months later, I was invited back to film a special visit by President Cyril Ramaphosa. This video celebrated the factory’s progress and the positive impact it has had on the region, adding another layer to Lotus’s narrative in South Africa.
